  GSU membership meetings are underway

The first quarterly membership meetings for 2010 began Feb. 10. The new structure is in effect and some of the usual meeting locations have changed, so make sure you are heading to the right place when you leave to attend your meeting.

The meeting agenda, times and locations are available here.

Resolutions are a way for members of GSU to contribute ideas on the direction and focus of GSU.    Are you interested in submitting a resolution to convention?  Bring your resolutions or your ideas to your upcoming membership meeting.

Updated Feb. 9

Unfair labour practice complaint rescheduled to Feb. 18 and 19

GSU’s unfair labour practice complaint challenging Viterra’s decision to outsource all of the unionized information technology (IT) jobs in the company’s Regina head office was originally scheduled to be heard by the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) at a hearings scheduled for Feb. 16 to 19, 2010.

The CIRB hearing is now set for February 18 and 19 in Regina.  The hearing is now only two days, instead of the original four days, since Viterra changed legal counsel. Additional days will be scheduled, but have not yet been set.

The hearing will begin with Viterra presenting the company's evidence in response to GSU's unfair labour practice complaint and the union's challenge of the Management Analyst positions' status (i.e. in-scope or out-of-scope).
